Mail Order Income Tax Returns
I can offer an Australia wide service to prepare your income tax return by mail order. Some conditions apply, so please read the following notes carefully. I believe this is a useful service to all Australians, particularly those living in remote areas where there are no accountants. You may laugh - no accountants !! One of my mail order clients recently wrote to me from a remote area and asked that I bank his refund cheque to his bank account - no problems - because they live 200 kilometres from the nearest bank !
Here is How it Works
1. You mail your financial information, including group certificates to me. 2. I prepare the return and mail it to you for your signature, together with my account. 3. You forward the signed return to me for lodgement. 4. I electronically lodge your income tax return. 5. The assessment notice and refund cheque (if applicable) arrive within 14 days of lodgement.Rules
Mail order clients should provide as much written information as possible when submitting their return for preparation. I would urge mail order clients to download the following client data collection sheet for your completion.
It is recommended that Mail Order clients do NOT email sensitive financial information to me. I am happy to answer questions by Email - but please do not send me your tax file numbers, scanned group certificates, or other information in this way. There are strict laws about tax file numbers and privacy of your financial information. Please do not send me your credit card details by Email. Currently, I do not believe existing email/internet systems are totally secure. In any case, income tax returns cannot be lodged without an original signature by the taxpayer, and I will need you to post me your original group certificates and other financial information. I prefer if you send me the original group certificate and PHOTOCOPIES of other financial records by registered postal mail.
I will not be held responsible for Australia Post misplacing your financial information - either way.
Mail order clients must either pay the applicable accounting fees prior to lodgement, OR sign an authority for my fees to be deducted from the refund cheque, if applicable. If a refund does not result from preparation of your tax return, you must provide valid credit card details prior to lodgement of the return. I have attached a sample declaration to be signed so that accounting fees may be deducted from your refund cheque. Please refer to the web page " How much do these services cost ?" for most of my charges. Please note there is a minimum $ 5 postage fee (Per despatch) applicable to all mail order clients.
No responsibility is taken for data omitted from income tax returns of mail order clients, unless compete information is supplied to me in writing prior to lodging the tax return.
